General Manager/ GM, Logistics. Based Manchester/ Trafford. c £60,000 p.a This well-established business are capitalizing on year on year growth, and a continuation on a huge growth curve to further cement their position as a key player in  their sector. They are investing in their people, processes, tech and business systems and are looking for an experienced logistics General Manager to join their successful management team. Based on site, your role will be to support the Senior Management team implement, lead and develop a new bespoke operation for the business as part of their exciting programme of growth and development.  You will be experienced in delivering exceptional service to a wide ranging customer base in a busy and demanding environment, you will be a highly motivated individual, with excellent organisational skills and know how to inspire and motivate others. This newly created position is a varied role, and there is genuine room for internal growth and the potential to develop into a larger role. Key responsibilities include: Ownership and overall delivery of the daily operating plan for all customers across the site to required cost and SLA’s Effective management and communication of operational change Ensure depot adheres to and exceeds agreed SLA and KPIs Proactive people management responses to change issues and initiatives to enable the depot to fulfil its responsibility to staff or, in pursuit of site or organisational aims and objectives Coach and mentor team members and actively contribute to the identification of individual and depot training and development needs To manage a collaborative and effective management team, achieving consistency between shifts (24/7 Operation) To continually improve efficiencies and identify operational improvements. Develop the team to encourage and achieve continuous improvement methodologies in order to improve the profitability, service and efficiency of the site Positively challenge the current operating practices and implement initiatives that will value add. Ensure systems and procedures are ‘Fit for Purpose’ aswell as 'Fit for future' in order to deliver consistently high performance To attend and contribute to depot groups and wider Company meetings and advise on the people and system implications, issues and responses to further the group’s strategies and objectives.                             Ensure strong and visible leadership in all aspects of Health and Safety management Initial point of contact for customers at site level for Operational communication   Based in Trafford, Greater Manchester, this role is commutable and accessible from Manchester, Salford Lancashire and Cheshire ie. Sale, Stretford, Urmston, Old Trafford, Bolton, Bury, Prestwich, Whitefield, Worsley, Salford, Oldham, Rochdale, Wigan, St Helens and much more!
